Nas has been on quite a run as of late as far as putting out new music, and apparently he’s not done, revealing in a new interview that he’s back in the studio once more.
Speaking to Vanity Fair for an article published on Monday (June 26), the legendary rapper expressed his excitement about getting back into the studio, noting that he feels he’s in a “creative growth spurt” of sorts and still desires to make music that makes people feel something.

“I’m in one of these creative growth spurts,” he said. “It’s something that I’m really excited about, and it surprises me – but I’m not too, too surprised because I was also waiting for the day that I felt like this again, and I knew it would come.”
When asked about his King Disease series with Hit-Boy, and if he plans to continue creating consecutive records, he shared that he really enjoys the “constant flow” of music and that he doesn’t “wanna stop it once it’s flowing the way it’s flowing.”

“It feels very free, and I just wanna see what happens as I stick to it. And I’ve been sticking to it, and it’s been my whole life now,” he explained. “Like, if I’m recording, I don’t do anything else, really. It hasn’t been this way for me for probably 20 years. I think that’s what I think today, maybe tomorrow I think about, well, actually accurately, seven years, or since I’ve been really in the studio, but when it comes in my head now, it’s been that long—20 years.”
As Hip Hop celebrates its 50th anniversary, the rapper also discussed his relationship with the genre. Being 49 years old, the rapper and Hip Hop essentially grew up together.
Aside from this, he also spoke about the changes he wants to see in society going forward.
“Science, medicine, food. Best food for us, best medicine for us, best understanding of science is what I wanna figure out,” Nas said. “Like, in general, for people, where is this going? Science, it talks about shortages of food. Ice Age moments, other galaxies, our atmosphere, all of those things. How do we protect humanity?”

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the original version of 50 Cent’s “Back Down” — which hears the G-Unit mogul roast Ja Rule and Murder Inc. — reportedly took aim at Nas, JAY-Z and Cam’ron.
One of the producers on the project, Sha Money XL, recalled 50 Cent firing off at other rappers on an unreleased version of the track as part of Diverse Mentality’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ 20th anniversary documentary.
