Mustard and his former partner have been in and out of court trying to settle their divorce for over a year now, and he is now asking for an alteration to the terms of their split.
According to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, the California native has requested that the court amend the joint custody order that gives him and Chanel Thierry equal say in important life decisions for their three children.

In the new motion, the 33-year-old is proposing sole legal custody of his oldest son due to a dispute with his estranged wife over a low-rated public school she enrolled him in. After consulting with educational experts, the producer decided that he wants to send the child to a different government-funded institution that would help him get his grades up and transfer to a private school.
The “Ballin” hitmaker claims that Thierry has been “defensive” about his involvement and treated the matter “like a contest that she must win at all costs, even if that cost is irreparable educational harm” to their kid.

About the dispute, his lawyer wrote: “Since [Mustard] began searching for a private school in October of 2023, Chanel has been reflexively oppositional to any and all information or advice coming from the professionals advising him.”
Thierry, who Mustard filed for divorce from in 2022, has not yet responded to his request.
The separation has been getting nasty, as both sides continue to make disputed claims about one another in court and online. Just last year, Thierry vented about her ex on Threads and alleged that he turned down her request to see their three children during the holiday season.
“Imagine not allowing a mother to see her kids on Christmas for the second year in the row is NASTY WORK,” she wrote. “Especially after they already expected to see her. Some of these men are more bitter then they appear. A true [clown emoji]. Bitter at this point is a understatement.”

She continued: “The irony of all of this is because your controlling ass couldn’t stand that TikTok and had to punish me some way some form. SICK IN THE HEAD ! A jealous BD ain’t nothing to under estimate.
“Mind yall I just told my mom. ‘My bday coming up, watch he gonna do his big one to rain on my parade’ typical jealous behavior.”
