Mozzy has reportedly been released from prison early after serving 10 months for a federal gun charge.

The CMG signee (real name Timothy Cornell Patterson) had previously turned himself in to federal authorities last July at the United States Penitentiary Atwater, and had a projected release date of July 23, 2023.

However, according to documents obtained by HipHopDX , Mozzy was released on Thursday (May 4). In addition to his sentence, Mozzy was also hit with a $55,000 fine, but it remains unclear if he’s paid the fine yet as the case has been sealed.

Mozzy and his team haven’t yet announced the rapper’s release, but the conviction stemmed from an incident last January when officers pulled him over in Culver City, California on a traffic stop.

Responding officers claimed they caught a whiff of “burnt marijuana,” and proceeded to search the car. They discovered a Glock 26, 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a “personal use” amount of marijuana. Mozzy was booked and released after posting $35,000 bail.

Mozzy made sure to leave fans with plenty of music while he was away. He dropped his seventh studio album  Survivor’s Guilt a week after his arrest via Yo Gotti’s CMG imprint. The album featured guest verses from Roddy Ricch and Shordie Shordie, as well as fellow CMG labelmates EST Gee, Blac Youngsta and Moneybagg Yo.

The Cali-bred rapper then followed it up with his Kollect Kalls EP last month, which included appearances from YFN Lucci, Celly Ru, E MOZZY and Baby Money. Mozzy also contributed his pen to DJ Drama’s I’m Really Like That, appearing on the tape’s seventh track “Been A While.”

Needless to say, Mozzy’s career has started to pick up considerable steam since signing to Gotti’s CMG back in February, which the 35-year-old called “long overdue.”

“Overdue, overdue, out the gate,” he said during the label’s 2022 Press Conference in Los Angeles. “Big dawg been tappin’ in with me. I’m talkin’ about even before a n-gga career even popped … We had conversations, he told me there was a seat at the table. I had to get my life right, tie up a couple of loose ends. I tied them muthafuckas up, we here now.
