LiAngelo Ball‘s new track “Tweaker” has a couple of high-profile fans who have indicated they’re ready to jump on a remix: Boosie Badazz and Moneybagg Yo.
On Tuesday (January 7), both Southern rappers hopped on X to say they were happy to appear on the song as soon as they got an opportunity.

Ball’s track, which is reminiscent of late ’90s/early-aughts Cash Money acts like the Big Tymers (the duo of Mannie Fresh and Birdman), also drew praise from a pioneer of Southern rap, Three 6 Mafia‘s DJ Paul.
“When I heard that song, the first thing that came to my mind was some Mannie Fresh/Juvenile,” Paul told TMZ. “Whoever produced this song, I think they were inspired by some Juvenile and some Mannie Fresh.”

“Tweaker” recently got attention for a different reason than its retro sound — its credits. The song lists LiAngelo’s brother Lonzo as a writer, something he recently clarified.
“Only credit I deserve is the cover art lol G really that! #YearOfG,” the NBA star wrote in a post on X.

“Tweaker” hit streaming services on Friday (January 3), but had already gone viral online after LiAngelo played the song on Neon’s stream and fans immediately compared it to something that would have been released in the Cash Money/Hot Boys era.
In other news, LiAngelo and Cam’ron got into online a few months back after the Dipset rapper-turned sports analyst mocked LiAngelo for playing overseas and not being good enough to make it in the NBA like his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo.
Speaking on It Is What It Is, the Harlem native imagined Gelo’s brothers telling him: “We tried, we did everything we could. We gotta tryout in China for you, that’s all we got,” before declaring: “He ain’t NBA good.”
LiAngelo, who has had stints in the NBA’s development league and Summer League and last played professionally in Mexico, quickly hit back on his own podcast What an Experience, which he co-hosts with his brother Lonzo and friends DMO and Anthony Salazar.

“‘Suck It Or Not’ with Lil Wayne, that’s all I remember from you,” he said while addressing Cam. “You don’t know my story like that. To say, ‘Oh, he got a tryout in China,’ you don’t know what I did in the G League, boy. I’m out here hooping.”
Cam’ron returned fire on a follow-up episode of It Is What It Is, saying: “I only know you ’cause your father’s a great marketer, n-gga. I wouldn’t know you if it wasn’t for LaVar Ball.”
