“You’ve been so tied up in your mind these days, I know/ A sweet distraction might be what you need to glow,” he sings. “Your body on inferno, inferno, your mind on my, my, my/ But you deserve to let go, to let go, to let yourself unwind.”
He continues on the hook: “Yeah, I like what you got, ’cause I like what you got (Yeah)/ I like what you got (Yeah), would you give it to me? (Yeah)/ Yeah, I like what you got, yeah, I like what you got/ Yeah, I like what you got, would you give it to me?”
Ahead of the song’s release, the singer teased the single via an Instagram post, with a video of him strumming away on his guitar adorned all in red.
Aside from his appearance on Diplo’s 2022 single, “Don’t Forget My Love,” Miguel has been noticeably absent from the music scene. He was presumably recovering from the fallout from his divorce from Nazanin Mandi, whom he dated for 13 years before getting married in 2018.
Miguel’s last studio album was 2017’s War & Leisure, which features assists from Travis Scott, J. Cole, Rick Ross and more.
The singer also contributed a version of “Remember Me” from the Coco soundtrack — the original won the Academy Awards for Best Original Song in 2018 — and he lent background vocals to A$AP Rocky’s latest single, “Same Problems?”
