Metro Boomin can add a joint album with J.I.D to his busy 2023 release schedule.

The multi-platinum producer revealed plans for a full-length collaboration with the Dreamville lyricist on Tuesday (March 28), tweeting out a photo of them cooking up in the studio together.

“Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop,” Metro wrote in his caption along with a series of fire and spiral eyes emojis.

J.I.D confirmed the pair are working on a full project together by correcting a tweet that claimed they were merely teasing a new song.

While the duo have yet to release any music together, they appear to have already hit it off in the studio.

“I love working with u brudda, it’s an honor,” J.I.D replied to Metro’s tweet, to which he responded: “Honor is mine family [handshake emoji].”

The as-yet-untitled album is just one of several high-profile releases Metro Boomin has in store for 2023. The Boominati boss is also prepping a joint project with fellow Atlanta native Future, with whom he’s developed a formidable partnership over the last decade (see: “Mask Off,” “Jumpman,” “Where Ya At”).

The album was first teased last December when Metro told Apple Music’s Ebro Darden that the reason he didn’t appear on Hendrix’s I Never Liked You is because they wanted to give fans a full “joint” rather than just a few songs.

“[Future] actually finished most of the album at my studio in L.A.,” he explained. “That’s my brother, but we’re working on some things. At first, we were going to put a couple of songs with me and him on the album, but we had took them off because I had talked to him.

“I was like, ‘Look, the last time anybody’s really heard a song from me and you was ‘Mask Off.’ So instead of us randomly throwing one or two songs we did on here, we got to wait and just give them a joint.'”

Metro later confirmed in an interview with FLAUNT magazine that the project will “definitely” arrive this year.

The St. Louis native is also expected to be a “big presence” on A$AP Rocky’s eagerly anticipated new album Don’t Be Dumb and is web-slinging his way into Hollywood by contributing original music to Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse, which hits theaters in June.

As for J.I.D, the Atlanta wordsmith released his long-awaited third album The Forever Story to critical acclaim last year. Boasting appearances from Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Ari Lennox, Yasiin Bey and more, it debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200, marking a new commercial peak for the 32-year-old.

More recently, he appeared on the Dreamville-curated Creed III soundtrack and is currently on the road with Smino, who also released one of 2022’s most well-received rap albums, Luv 4 Rent.
