Method Man has received support from Soulja Boy after he recently made it clear that we will never return to Hot 97 Summer Jam because of the generation gap.
As previously reported, the Wu-Tang Clan spitter took to social media following his performance at the annual festival over the weekend to say the crowd just wasn’t for him.

“Not our crowd at all,” he wrote in the comments section of an Instagram post of his performance. “Thanks again, New York and the whole tri-state (that showed up to the event) plus Pete[er Rosenberg] and Ebro [Darden] I got love for you guys, but never again.. at this point the generation gap is just too wide for me.. #nevercomingback”
On Tuesday (June 4), TMZ caught up with Soulja in Los Angeles, where they asked him about the situation.

“I don’t think he mean that. He probably just in his feelings,” he said. “He probably gon’ perform at a future event, you know what I’m saying? But shout out to him. People got different … I don’t know. That’s New York, though. Everybody supposed to know who he is.
“It don’t matter. That’s crazy. I didn’t know that. There probably was a lot of young people in the audience. Shout out to him. He’s definitely a legend, for sure. He entitled to respond however he feel like. It’s gon’ be all good.”
Method Man knows a thing or two about giving legends their due respect as he recently revealed he still “fans out” over fellow Hip Hop greatLL COOL J.
Mef stopped by Kevin Hart’s Gold Minds with Kevin Hart podcast back in March, during which he said he feels that the Queens pioneer doesn’t get his just due.
“I still fan out over LL COOL J, let me tell you,” he admitted. “Sixteen! Sixteen years old [when he released his first single]!”
He added: “Come on, man. People don’t talk enough about COOL J, man.”

As fans of classic Hip Hop know, Method Man and LL COOL J collaborated back in 1997 on the song “4,3,2,1,” a song that was released on Uncle L’s seventh studio album Phenomenon and was credited with kicking off the Queens rapper’s beef with Canibus.
