Los Angeles, CA

Megan Thee Stallion‘s former friend and assistant Kelsey Harris has recanted on multiple statements involving the alleged shooting of Megan by Tory Lanez in 2020.

According to Los Angeles Times reporter James Queally, Harris, who took the stand inside a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday (December 14) as part of Megan and Tory’s ongoing felony shooting trial, walked back multiple things she said in an interview with the prosecution in September.

Harris was also reportedly granted “use immunity” rather than “transactional immunity,” meaning her testimony can’t be legally used against her in a crime.

In Wednesday’s proceeding, she couldn’t confirm that she saw Tory Lanez with a gun or that he threatened to shoot her, which reportedly goes against what Harris told prosecutors in September.

Rolling Stone reports that Harris recalled telling prosecutors about the night of the shooting during an interview in September, but when Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta asked her during Wednesday’s court proceedings to describe the alleged threat for the jury, she failed to disclose much and said “some of those things I stated, they were not accurate.”

While Megan claimed Tory offered her $1 million in hush money, Harris denied ever receiving a monetary bribe of that magnitude.

Harris quantified her time on the stand by admitting she’s suffering from “post-partum depression” and her “mind isn’t here right now.” She admitted to being under the influence of alcohol on the July 2020 night, but vehemently denied being the shooter.

Queally also reported that the judge ruled that Harris’ statements from her September interview with the District Attorney can’t currently be considered as evidence by the jury. Recordings of the interview were previously played in the courtroom by the prosecution.

Megan Thee Stallion took the stand on Tuesday (December 13) where she delivered an emotional testimony recounting what allegedly transpired on the night she claims Tory Lanez shot her in both feet.

“I’m in shock. I’m scared. I hear the gun going off, and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me,” Megan told the court.

“Don’t say anything and I’ll give you a million dollars,” Meg recalled him saying. However, Tory’s attorney, George Mgdesyan, has disputed this claim, saying that his client was never even on probation.

Following the alleged incident, the L.A. County D.A.’s Office charged Tory Lanez with a felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle in October 2020.
