Megan Thee Stallion Gets Apology From Math Hoffa Over Tory Lanez Shooting Skepticism

Megan Thee Stallion has received another apology in the wake of Tory Lanez being found guilty of shooting her in the feet, and this time it’s from Math Hoffa.

The My Expert Opinion host spoke at length about the trial during a previous episode of his podcast and continued to affirm that Megan was lying. In a recent sit-down with Drink Champs, though, Hoffa admitted they were wrong and revealed he had personally sent a lengthy apology letter to Meg.

“I want to apologize to Megan, too, because I saw 50 [Cent] put out an apology,” Hoffa said at the three-hour mark. “We didn’t believe her, we did not believe her, bro, we didn’t believe her. She definitely needed more people. Well, she didn’t really need more people.

“I want to publicly apologize to Megan because as Black men we’re supposed to protect our women and I feel like I failed in that category as far as the things that I said on our podcast…I’m sorry for what you went through. I’m sorry for that coming from a Black man and yeah I apologize.”

“I think with both of them I hope they find better places in their lives because we’ve seen other artists go through shit,” Hoffa added, comparing the situation to Chris Brown beating Rihanna in 2009. “We do need to do more about us just misusing each other.”

50 Centissued an apology to Megan Thee Stallion in January over a meme he’d previously posted that compared her to Jussie Smollett and admitted he previously felt like Meg was lying about everything in relation to her case with Tory Lanez because she’d denied having a sexual relationship with him. However, a specific point in the trial made him change his tune.

“I’m gonna apologize to Megan Thee Stallion,” 50 said. “I said some things, and it was because… On social media I posted things that, when she was with Gayle [King], she said: ‘Were you intimate with Tory Lanez?’ And she said: ‘What?’ and it was like, ‘No.’ And I was like, ‘Ah, she lying.’

“At that point I knew she was lying, it wouldn’t be no reason for them to be around each other,” he continued. “From that it felt like she was lying – to me.”

50 added that it was Tory Lanez’s call to Megan’s former friend Kelsey Harris from jail, which was played in the trial as evidence, that gave him a different perspective.

“I should apologize to her, because when I heard the phone conversation – that made me feel like, ‘Oh shit,’” he said. “’Now I know what happened.’ I’m sure that was probably what swayed people in court, too.”

The aforementioned was allegedly made from Hollywood Jail the day after the shooting. While Tory didn’t specifically mention the shooting or a gun in the call, prosecutors argued he was apologizing for shooting Megan.

The almost five-minute call begins with Tory asking Kelsey if she’s “good” and which hospital Megan was being treated at. He then offers an apology to both women, who he was allegedly sleeping with at the time.

“I know she’s probably never ever gonna talk to me ever again but… bruh, I just want you to know, I was just so fucking drunk, I don’t even know what the fuck was going on, deadass. I’d never do some shit like that,” Lanez said on the call.

“Regardless, that’s not gonna make anything right and that’s not gonna make my actions right, but I’m deeply sorry for that. I never even move like that at all. For real, for real, dawg.”

“I know,” Harris replied with a sigh. “It was a lot, it was a lot that happened.”

Tory continued: “A whole lot, bruh. I feel crazy, but what happened happened already; I can’t take it back. I’m just telling y’all I’m sorry, bruh. I think we were just too drunk.

“When I got to the house, they gave me like five shots, like off the door, you feel me? So I was outta there. I don’t even remember what we was even arguing about.”

A judge has set a new date of February 28 for Tory’s sentencing, after the rapper replaced his defense attorney George Mgdesyan with David Kenner – who helped Snoop Dogg beat his 1993 murder case.
