Meek Mill took the fortuitous way home from school one day and it ended up netting him a cameo in a Clipse music video.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday (November 29), the Dreamchasers boss recalled the time he rode his bike home from school wound up appearing in Pusha T and No Malice‘s “Hot Damn” video, which was shot in his hometown of Philadelphia.

Meek said he even seized the opportunity to spit a few bars for the Virginia duo, along with their hit producer Pharrell, earning their stamp of approval. The moment only fueled his desire to achieve his rap dreams even more.
“The Clipse and Pharrell told me I was ‘hot’ when I spit for them outside their trailer, I was like 13,” the MMG rapper wrote.

“And [the director] Benny Boom let me wheelie in the vid me lil rob and dem. I think I was coming from school [and] ran into this!”

“Hot Damn” was initially released in 2002 as part of Clipse’s debut album Lord Willin’ and also served as the lead single from The Neptunes’ 2003 compilation Clones. The song peaked at No. 58 on Billboard’s U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Two decades later, Clipse are getting their flowers as Pusha T and No Malice were honored with their own day in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.
The duo’s two-day trip to the capital began with a live interview with the media company Idea Generation, followed by a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Pusha looked back at the whole experience with a recap posted to Instagram. He pointed out one more major highlight: the day of their Kennedy Center performance turned into “Pusha T & The Clipse Day” in the city.
“From starting the weekend with @n_c_b and the good people @ideageneration to gracing the stage of the world famous @kennedycenter, thank you Washington DC for embracing us as your own,” Pusha T wrote on Instagram while documenting the special visit.
