Meek Mill has taken aim at the Grammys over Killer Mike‘s arrest and Rod Wave being snubbed.
The “Dreams & Nightmares” MC took to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday (February 4) to express his dismay with the Recording Academy, questioning not only the “decision making” behind the winners but the “timing” of Mike’s arrest, which came after he won three awards.

“I don’t fuck with the Grammies … I always to always have big Grammy parties and have the heaviest business and biggest entertainments with us at the night because we actually have real influence on the culture! Grammies is not the play!” he began.
“Propaganda at an all time high too …. I love killer Mike big inspiration to me! He need more awards for the things he does for the culture! But getting 3 Grammies and getting arrested immediately after insanity … they award giving timing is very off to me.”

He added: “To arrest killer Mike immediately after the Grammies propaganda…. A lot of people are questioning the decision making and bases of the award choosing in the gen z era… their timing to award black men be totally off!”
Showing support for Rod Wave, who has yet to receive a single Grammy nomination despite carving out a successful career for himself, Meek wrote: “Was rod wave nominated for a Grammy or nah because he’s not signed to a bunch of lawyers to steal his brand.

“He just sold out arenas had people singing their hearts out did that not count or am I missing something ….without major production either????”
The Philly native also saluted Lil Durk for winning his first Grammy for “All My Life,” which took home Best Melodic Rap Performance: “Durk deserves every award he gets lost real family to this game and been on the grind since lil snupe … la Capone .. rondonumba9 days and was making his way like a 12 year process!”

Killer Mike was arrested over an alleged altercation with security at the Grammys just hours after winning Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
TMZ obtained footage of both the alleged incident and arrest, which saw Mike escorted out of the awards ceremony in handcuffs.

He is alleged to have knocked down a security guard for not moving out of his way, although this isn’t seen in the footage.
According to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records, Mike was booked on a misdemeanor battery charge through a citizen’s arrest and released on his own recognizance hours later.
The Run The Jewels MC has since broken his silence on the incident, describing it as a minor “speed bump” in an otherwise enjoyable night.
Meek Mill isn’t the only rapper to express frustration with this year’s Grammys. JAY-Z called out the Recording Academy while accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award during Sunday’s ceremony.
