Max B may have spent the better part of a decade behind bars, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a doting father.
In an Instagram post on Monday (February 26), the Wave God’s son, Carter Maxson, shared a picture with his incarcerated dad, who is currently serving a prison sentence for aggravated manslaughter.

The last fans heard from Max B was in November 2023 when French Montana shared a video sent to him by his longtime friend and affiliate to celebrate his 39th birthday.
“Happy birthday, beloved,” Max said in the brief clip before expressing excitement for his future release, which is expected to happen by 2025. “Bro, see you soon. We on our way, n-gga.”

In 2009, Max B (real name Charly Wingate) was charged with conspiracy related to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder.
The 45-year-old rapper is alleged to have plotted to rob two men with his stepbrother, Kelvin Leerdam, and ex-girlfriend, Gina Conway, at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey in September 2006. The botched robbery resulted in one of the men being shot dead.
Max had his initial 75-year sentence substantially reduced to 20 years in 2016 after taking a plea deal, before announcing three years later that it had been further cut to 12 years.
It’s not entirely clear when exactly Max will be home, but back in May he posted a video in which he could be seen flashing a huge smile as he gave fans an update on his freedom in a phone call from behind bars.
