Mariah the Scientist has promised to wait for Young Thug to get his freedom, no matter how long it takes to do so.

The “Spread Thin” singer stopped by the Way Up With Angela Yee podcast on Thursday (October 26), where she revealed that her bond with Thugga was actually strengthened due to his current legal predicament.

“I think in the beginning I was so sensitive about it. I was so emotional, I was crying all the time,” she said to the former Breakfast Club co-host. “It was like, you can’t be crying when you got a man in jail because it’s going to make him sad. So you can’t be acting like that.”

She continued: “It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship. I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one. If I didn’t really see that in him, I probably wouldn’t. In the beginning he was like, ‘I don’t know how long this is going to take so if you just want to go on.’ And I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ He’s the one.”

Earlier this month, Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist fortified their romance on wax by releasing dual singles that approach the same subject from two different perspectives.

Released on October 13, Mariah’s “From A Woman” is her first single since signing to Epic Records. The London On Da Track-produced song will lead into her forthcoming album To Be Eaten Alive, out October 27.

Released moments later, Thugger’s “From A Man” serves as the incarcerated rapper’s new single.

“[Young Thug] is someone who supports and respects my vision wholeheartedly. There is a true balance in my femininity and his masculinity,” Mariah said in a statement. “He’s the yang to my yin in every way.”

Meanwhile, as Thugga sits behind bars, the YSL trial charges on, with Thug’s attorney Brian Steel recently revealing an all-star witness list that includes some of the biggest names in Hip Hop.

Court documents obtained by HipHopDX reveal that the witness list — which was filed by the lawyer on October 20 — includes names such as T.I. (real name Clifford Harris), Killer Mike (Michael Render), and music business executive Lyor Cohen.

Thugga’s witness list also includes a variety of experts, including investigator Jimmy Martin, sheriff’s deputy Jimmy Kennedy, attorney Jacoby Hudson, and cell phone expert Det. Scott Demeester.

In all, there are 45 witnesses, plus “any and all co-Defendants in the above-referenced Indictment,” and “any and all witnesses named in the State’s Witness List as well as any and all witnesses named in the co-Defendants’ Witness List” on Young Thug’s witness list.

The leader of the Young Slime Life movement also filed to have the prosecution’s witness list excluded.

The rapper remains behind bars awaiting trial after having his fourth bond request denied in July. It’s likely he’ll remain in jail until well into next year given the drawn-out jury selection process and continual delays in the case.
