Lupe Fiasco and Joe Budden have set the record straight on the notion they hate Kendrick Lamar and Drake, respectively.
While joining Budden on an X Spaces broadcast on Monday (July 22), Lupe admitted that the beef between the rap titans had largely passed him by and he had only heard Drizzy’s initial diss song “Push Ups.”

“You know I haven’t listened to any of the songs? I listened to ‘Push Ups’ and then after the [Rick] Ross response [‘Champagne Moments’], I haven’t listened to anything. So I haven’t heard any of the records: ‘Family Matters,’ ‘Meet the Grahams,’ ‘Not Like Us.’ I kinda tapped out.”
Budden then jabbed Lupe over his perceived dislike of Kendrick, saying he had “sheer hate for one of them n-ggas.”

Lupe replied: “You hate Drake, I know,” to which Budden responded: “No, but it’s from love and you hate Kendrick from love.”
The Food & Liquor MC denied the claim, saying: “No, I love Dot,” with the former Slaughterhouse rapper adding: “Like I love Drake!”

The two then bickered over who loved and hated Drake and Kendrick.
Lupe later attempted to squash the rumor once and for all that he does not like Kendrick: “I do not have a problem. No matter what was said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen. I personally and professionally do not have a problem with my brother in arms Kendrick Lamar.”

Lupe Fiasco has previously attempted to deny that he has issues with Kendrick and even offered proof that he had love for the Compton superstar.
In April, the revered lyricist posted a video from 2012 where he brought a young K. Dot on stage during a performance in his hometown of Chicago.

In the clip, Lupe crowns Kendrick — who at that point was weeks away from releasing his critically acclaimed debut good kid, m.A.A.d city — the “Next Big Thing.”
“Out of the many, there’s only one guy that I am a fan of that I think deserves this award, so the ‘Next Big Thing’ award goes to my big homie Kendrick Lamar […] This the future right here, y’all,” Lupe can be heard saying.
He sarcastically captioned the footage: “I been hating on KDot since 2012…day one hater. Big Hate…couldn’t wait till he came to Chicago so I could hate on him to his fucking face!”
Joe Budden, meanwhile, has had an up-and-down relationship with Drake over the years that has seen them trade shots both in the studio and on social media.

Their on-again, off-again rift reignited last fall when Budden trashed Drizzy’s For All the Dogs album, claiming that he was “rapping for the children” and “still fucking 25-year-olds.”
In response, the 6 God hit back by claiming that the rapper-turned-podcaster had “failed at music.”

“[Y]ou switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat,” he wrote in a scathing Instagram comment.
“[Please] to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact…this guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering. If you need it put in simpler terms, I own a 767…he owns a modest house in the 973 and flies first class on special occasions.”
