Logic has ripped into Anthony Fantano’s scathing review of Chance The Rapper‘s debut album The Big Day.
While Logic prefaced his commentary video by saying he and the YouTube music critic are good friends, the Maryland rapper didn’t hold back as he cut through Fantano’s review piece by piece.

“You just look so unenthusiastic that’s all I’m saying,” Logic said at the two-minute mark. “We’re like three seconds into this and I’m already going in.”
He continued: “Me reviewing Anthony reviewing is a great thing and I think I’m gonna do this forever. Like that’s always been a weird thing for me to see Anthony do where he will review artists he doesn’t like. So to me, he’s already biased like he’s not gonna like it.”

Elsewhere, he picked apart Fantano’s choice of phrasing he used to describe The Big Day,which was universally panned upon its release in 2019.
“Twenty-two-track torture chamber?” Logic said quoting Fantano’s review. “God damn dog. Yo Chance, this man’s a hater.”

However, Logic closed out his review of the review by giving it a 10 out of 10, even though he didn’t agree with Fantano’s choice of words.
“I don’t agree with how Anthony Fantano said a lot of what he said, but he was entertaining, honest, brutally fucking to the point, took his time to go into why and what he didn’t like about it,” Logic said. “Do I think he was too brutal? Yes. Do I think he was mean? Yes. Do I think that’s what makes him great? Yes.”

Logic will likely get an Anthony Fantano review of his own very soon, as the Viny Days rapper is gearing up to drop his new album College Park on February 24.
Logic has dropped numerous singles off the forthcoming project, including most recently “Highlife,” which came with a visual starring actors Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, who portrayed Jay and Silent Bob in films such as Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot — which the video plays on.
Logic also dropped off the track “Maybach Music” at the end of January, which he recorded inside a brand new $325,000 Maybach, and to coincide with the release of the album’s lead single “Wake Up” earlier in January, Urban Outfitters announced a special “varsity green vinyl” of the Grammy-nominated rapper’s upcoming LP. All 500 copies sold out in just 60 seconds.
College Park will feature appearances from Joey Bada$$, RZA, Redman, Bun B, Statik Selektah, Norah Jones, Fat Trel, Phil Ade, Seth MacFarlane and more.

The project will mark Logic’s first independent album after he severed ties with Def Jam in 2022. His final release on the label was Vinyl Days, which he revealed was recorded in just 12 days to accelerate his departure.
