Lil Wayne has paid the Houston Astros a visit while moving through Texas on his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour and the defending champs gifted him with a World Series chain.
Weezy pulled up to Minute Maid Park on Tuesday afternoon (May 2) ahead of his Houston concert where he got to meet Astros former MVP Jose Altuve, LSU graduate/3rd baseman Alex Bregman, manager Dusty Baker and team owner advisor and MLB legend Reggie Jackson.

Although he isn’t shy about his Boston Redsox fandom, the New Orleans rap icon was presented a custom “Tunechi” Astros No. 27 jersey autographed by just about every player on the team. Wayne also received an icy World Series trophy chain courtesy of famous jeweler Johnny Dang.
“Hit a home run and landed in the @astros LUV,” Weezy captioned an Instagram post commemorating the day, while the Astros returned the favor, writing: “Tried to pay attention but attention paid us. Glad to have you Mr. Carter!”
Being an avid sports fan, Weezy relayed to the Associated Press that “it meant the world” to him for the Astros to show him so much love.
“They showed me way too much love and it seemed like they’re a pretty big fan and I’m a fan as well so it was all good,” Wayne explained. “I just pulled both of them to the side and had a long speech, a long talk with Mr. October [Reggie Jackson] and Dusty [Baker]. It was awesome.”
Lil Wayne’s Welcome To Tha Carter Tour finishes up its Texas stops with a Thursday night (May 4) show in Austin before heading to Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver this weekend.
For any fans who don’t get the chance to catch his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour in person will soon get the chance to tune in online.
