Lil Uzi Vert had a busy set at Rolling Loud California over the weekend, where he debuted plenty of new music and provided an update on his long-awaited Pink Tape project.
Uzi hit the stage ahead of Future on Sunday night (March 5), donning multi-colored eye contacts and a spiked hairstyle with a red jacket.

During his set, he previewed an unreleased track that found him showing love to his “Shoota” collaborator and former rivalPlayboi Carti.
“Shout out to Carti, we don’t talk hardly, but that’s where my heart be,” he raps on the song.
The Philly native went on to premiere another pair of twitchy tracks for the raucous L.A. crowd, one of which features an assist from Future while the other saw him reference his relationship with City Girls rapper JT.
“I make a City Girl believe in Satan,” Uzi boasted on the latter, nodding to the internet conspiracy theories that claim he’s some kind of devil worshipper.

Finally, Lil Uzi Vert addressed the delay behind his anticipated Pink Tape LP, apologized for taking so long to deliver the album and revealing he’s putting the finishing touches on it.
“I do make y’all wait a long time for music and I’m so sorry. I thought that shit was cool before but that shit is lame,” he admitted. “I’m putting the final touches on Pink Tape and I promise — I made a lot of promises in my life, but this time I promise.”
It’s far from the first time Uzi has teased the imminent arrival of Pink Tape as he told HipHopDX the project was in its “mixing stages” as far back as August 2021.
At the top of this year, the “Just Wanna Rock” hitmaker teased the project would be released in February, which came and went with the album remaining without a firm release date.
Generation Now co-founder Don Cannon has said that Uzi has recorded nearly 700 songs for the album and it won’t have any features.
“Right now, we working on the album and he got 680 songs [from the last] 18 months,” Cannon said on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion last month. “I call him the Kobe Bryant when he was saying he used to shoot jump shots after the game. That’s what he doing. He give you a hit and do five songs a day. Nobody believe me. I bring them to the studio to see.

“Sober, high, when he used to get high and now he sober doing it. Ain’t nothing changed. He one of them guys, and it’s different because you’re getting all different kind of songs out of him. You might get a rock song, a real rap song because he really rap, you might get the melodic shit that he do.”
