Lil Uzi Vert released his new album Pink Tape last week, and according to Charleston White, the Philadelphia rapper coughed up a nice check to have him sampled on one of the tracks.

The controversial YouTuber’s voice can be heard in the opening moments of “Suicide Doors,” where he claims in a Say Cheese interview to have “never heard” an Uzi Vert song that sticks out to him, and criticizes the rapper for wearing nail polish.

“My right hand to God, I ain’t never heard an Uzi Vert song that I can say, ‘That’s Uzi Vert,’” White said in the clip. “But I know he’s a sissified-looking n-gga that put fingernail polish on his muthafuckin’ nails and wear dresses. How you gon’ talk about something, n-gga?”

While the comments were meant to be an insult towards Vert, White came out and said the Eternal Atake lyricist paid him a good amount of money to have the diss featured on their new album.

“I’m happier then a bitch,” White said in an interview with Mix One Essentials after the host asked him how he felt about the sample. “But nah they contacted me Thursday night before he did that because they gotta get permission just like sampling a song. So they cut me a nice little check and I had an attorney negotiate the royalties on it, but I get future publishing checks for whatever. He really blessed my gang.”

While fans are likely still working their way through Uzi’s lengthy 26-track outing, the rapper recently told fans they were going to “drop a whole ‘nother album” instead of a deluxe version of their latest LP.

“Get this 2 number one and I will drop the album y’all really looking for,” Lil Uzi Vert wrote alongside a photo of the album’s cover on their Instagram Story on Tuesday (July 4).

Then taking it a step further, Uzi updated their bio to add “Luv is rage 3” – seemingly another hint at what’s to come next from the Philly rapper.

Early projections suggest Uzi’s Pink Tape will earn between 220,000 and 250,000 equivalent album units in its first week, enough to secure a No. 1 debut on the chart. This means it’s slated to become the first Hip Hop album to top the Billboard 200 this year.

Luv is Rage 3 would be the sequel to Lil Uzi Vert’s debut studio album Luv is Rage 2, which arrived nearly six years ago in August 2017. The effort debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 135,000 album-equivalent units and went on to be certified 2x platinum by the RIAA.

They followed it up with 2020’s Eternal Atake three years later.
