Lil Baby has given back to his community in a big way, by partnering with esteemed businessman Michael Rubin for Fanatics Global Volunteer Day.

In late June, the Atlanta native aided in distributing $20million worth of merch across the country as part of the charity’s work.

On Friday (July 7), to mark the success of the event, the “Do We Have A Problem?” rhymer joined forces with VaynerMedia to drop a new single and video combo titled: “Merch Madness,” in which he briefly touches on his philanthropic pursuits.

The visual begins with Baby surprising students inside Harlem’s Frederick Douglass Academy on their last day of school.

Detailing his involvement, Baby (real name Dominique Armani Jones) raps: “Real trench baby, business with Fanatics/ This like 20 million on a giveaway/ Twenty buses, 20 cities, stadium to stadium/ See they idols givin’ back to them, makin’ people go crazy/ I get paid when I appear/ To do this, I volunteer.

In music news, the rapper was a hot topic during a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, in which  Budden voiced his opinion that Gunna outshined Young ThugLil Baby, and Lil Durk with his new album.

While, the former Slaughterhouse member and his co-hosts were in agreement that despite the narrative he snitched on Young Thug by taking a plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO case, Gunna’s new offering, A Gift & A Curse, far exceeds Thug (Business is Business), Baby (It’s Only Me) and Durk’s (Almost Healed) respective releases.

“Don’t ever say that again. Don’t ever disrespect rats,” Budden joked in response to QueenzFlip posing the question of whether Thug dropped a better album than Gunna. “We gotta start upping the respect level for the rats around here.”

He added: “They can’t trick me with their little rap conditioning and rap ideologies, fuck outta here. That Gunna shit sound good. It’s better than [Thug’s album] and the rest of them street n-gga albums that have dropped. It’s better than all of them — with no features and no Metro Boomin, with no help and no support. He did it!”

Meanwhile, Gunna has been embroiled in an alleged beef with YSL since his release from prison and so in response appeared to turn his back on his former friends, including Lil Baby and Lil Durk, by unfollowing them on social media.

The move presumably comes after Lil Baby’s alleged diss track aimed at the rapper, as well as Durk’s comments from earlier this year, where noted that the “Wunna” rapper should’ve kept his mouth closed.
