Latto seems to have fired a little shade in the direction of Nicki Minaj on a new song she has with Anycia — or that’s what fans think, at least.
In a preview of what appeared to be their video shoot shared on social media on Tuesday (January 16), the 777 artist raps: “Got auntie hatin, she burnt!”

When Akademiks posted the snippet to his page, he highlighted the possible Nicki shade in the caption — which Latto didn’t shy away from as she shared it to her story.
In the comments of Ak’s post, the two women’s respective fanbases battled it out amongst each other as usual — while Anycia’s fans were annoyed that she wasn’t even mentioned.

Meanwhile, Anycia shared an additional preview of the song while also writing about her time with Latto, saying: “Latto is such an amazing girl. so sweet & down to earth. humble, selfless & very welcoming. love her down. prolly my favorite person i’ve met. brooke too. best pair of sisters. REAL girl girls!!!!”

Latto and Nicki Minaj’s static dates back to a 2022 Twitter/X spat, which stemmed from the latter’s frustration that “Super Freaky Girl” was deemed a pop song — rather than rap — by the Grammys, but Latto’s “Big Energy” wasn’t.
“I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY, If [‘Super Freaky Girl’] has [2 billion views] moved out RAP then so does Big Energy,” Nicki tweeted, referring to the Atlanta rap rookie’s multi-platinum single.
Latto ultimately responded by tweeting: “Damn I can’t win for losing… all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate,” which led to the two taking personal shots at each other.
Since then, fans speculated that Latto dissed Nicki on her hit “Put It On Da Floor,” when she raps: “Bitches acting like they running shit, they really ran through” and “She thought I would kiss her ass, she mustn’t have took her meds.”
And then fans speculated that Nicki Minaj took shots on her recent Pink Friday 2 cut “Fallin 4 U,” seemingly using her clever wordplay skills to blur the line between “locs, ho” and the rapper’s name.

“Picture you endin’ up under the seat, where the dread at?/ Picture not listenin’ when I said you would dread that/ I mean locs, hoe, you’s a chop hoe/ I’m number one, y’all go argue over top four/ Clean sweep, you gettin’ mopped, hoe!”
Neither have said the other’s name on wax, however, so it’s all fan speculation for now.
