The 55-year-old’s hospitalization was first announced by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, last month. She revealed he had experienced an unspecified “medical complication” the day before, but was already on the mend.

“From the Foxx Family. We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she said in a statement. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

She added: “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, the Foxx Family.”

TMZ reported at the time that Jamie Foxx’s condition was serious enough that he had to be taken to the hospital, with members of his family visiting him. He was said to be “communicating now, and that’s good news.”
