Kid Cudi has claimed that Pusha T was his only “true” friend when he was signed to Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Cudi explained the level of respect he has for the Clipse rapper: “Push has been my closest homie since day 1. He embraced me from jump and always has my back.”

“When I was on GOOD music, he was like literally the only one I had a true relationship with. Thats my big bro and I love him forever. We def gon keep puttin out heat for yall,” he added of his “Rock N Roll” collaborator.
The revelation may come as something as a surprise given Cudi’s previously close relationship with label founder and frequent collaborator Kanye.

In an interview Apple Music’s Zane Lowe earlier this year, the Cleveland native revealed that Ye had privately apologized for his previous attacks on him, paving the way for them to restore their friendship.
“The reason we became cool again is he apologized to me. And it was sincere. I was like, ‘Wow, Kanye does not apologize to anyone, he doesn’t say sorry to anyone,” he said.

“That’s my brother, man. I know he loves me. There’s just nothing like Kanye and Cudi. We like the duo everybody loves to see.”
He continued: “I know that in his soul, there is a good man there ’cause I’ve seen it. You don’t give up on people. He’s learning and he’s growing. He knows he made some mistakes.
“That’s the beauty of it. The beautiful thing is he knows he’s been on a hell of a ride and he knows he’s said some things that he might not be able to come back from in a lot of realms, a lot of spaces with certain people but we grow. I pray for him. That’s my brother.”
Kid Cudi also appeared to have a positive relationship with fellow G.O.O.D. Music signee Big Sean before the two fell out over Jhené Aiko, who was previously married to Cudi’s close friend and collaborator Dot Da Genius.

Cudi and Sean appeared on numerous songs together before the spat, with the Detroit MC later grieving their falling out on his 2016 song “No More Interviews.”
“From Stunna and Wayne, Cudi and Ye / What happened to our family ways, though? / When I put you on that song with Nas, you had told me that you was forever grateful / And that we brothers, so it hurt to hit the internet to find out that me and you don’t fuck with each other / Over a miscommunication that probably could be fixed with a five-minute conversation, I’m still praying for ya,” Sean rapped.
