Kehlani has released her new mixtape While We Wait 2 as she continues her heated custody battle with ex-boyfriend Javaughn Young-White.

While she released an album just a few months ago, Kehlani is continuing her prolific streak with the sequel to 2019’s While We Wait.

Clocking in at 14 tracks, Kehlani is not slacking off and has also recruited the likes of Vince Staples, Lucky Daye and Lil Mo for the project.

Unveiling the project on her Instagram, the singer also revealed her favorite tracks from the mixtape were “Clothes Off”, “Border”, “Around” and “Let Me Down (San Diego Interlude)”.

She also wrote about the making of the album: “Means a lot to continue this feeling from WWW1. we made this tape in my back house in two weeks with all people i really dearly love. thank you to all the features, my friends who sat up and wrote with me, my engineer, and my team. it was a breezy process and nobody thought hard. just some feelings in 90 degree weather. hope you enjoy. see you on tour.”

While We Wait 2‘s release comes as the “Gangsta” singer is locked in a controversial dispute with her ex-boyfriend over the custody of their daughter.

Kehlani first accused Young-White of being abusive during their relationship and was granted a temporary restraining order against him.

Young-White quickly denied the claims and then alleged that Kehlani was in fact the abusive one in their relationship.

Young-White shared several text messages between him and the “Nowhere Fast” hitmaker which appear to contradict her claim that he smashed through a door in a fit of rage.

Vaughn-White also claimed that Kehlani has a history of making false rape and abuse allegations when relationships fall apart. He accused her of lying about being raped after she was caught cheating on her ex-girlfriend Kiara Russell.

In legal documents filed on behalf of Kehlani, Young-White allegedly threatened the singer’s safety, consumed lots of drugs and posed a danger to their child when under the influence.

A judge granted Kehlani a temporary restraining order against Young-White, banning him from coming within 100 yards of her and their child until a hearing next month.
