Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have been tinkering with Vultures 2 since its surprise release on Saturday (August 3), making significant changes to almost half of the album’s songs.
Some of the most notable changes occur on the Leon Bridges-sampling “River,” which has completely different drums, some sound effects removed and an entirely new mix that boosts the vocals.

“Fried” also includes seemingly unmastered ad-libs along with a different mix.
“530” has seen a number of its sound effects altered from the original version, mainly the drink pouring sounds, with distortion also being added to some vocals.

“Field Trip,” “Sky City” and “Dead” have also been tweaked as part of the extensive update.
Kanye’s current chief of staff Eric J. Coi has also stated that there are “more surprises on the way,” with the digital deluxe edition seemingly being one.
This is not the first time that Ye has edited an album after its release. Vultures 1 saw post-release alterations, as did Donda and most notably his 2016 LP The Life of Pablo, which he called a “living breathing changing creative expression.”

Ye and Ty have been accused by Portishead co-founder Geoff Barrow of sampling the band’s classic hit “Machine Gun” on “Field Trip” without permission, while Swsh made a similar claim about “530” which the singer says used “Break the Fall (Acoustic)” without the proper clearance.
It’s unclear if they plan to pursue legal action over the samples.
