John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have celebrated the birth of their third child together by sharing a first photo of baby Esti Maxine Stephens.
In a candid photo shared on Instagram on Thursday (January 19), Teigen and Legend’s two other children, Luna, 6, and Miles, 4, can be seen cradling their newborn baby sister, who arrived just last week.

“On Friday, we welcomed Esti Maxine Stephens to our family, and our house is overflowing with love and joy,” Legend wrote in his caption. “I’m in awe of Chrissy’s strength and resilience and I’m so thrilled to see how Luna and Miles embrace their baby sister. I’m so, so grateful, but that doesn’t seem like a big enough word.”
Teigen added in her own Instagram post: “She’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens – the house is bustling and our family could not be happier. Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a c section!?
“We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes – we feel it all! X.”
Teigen announced she was pregnant last August, nearly two years after the couple suffered a pregnancy loss. “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she added. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
She continued: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen said in the post at the time of their loss. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
Legend then announced the arrival of Esti during an intimate live performance on January 13, the same day his wife had given birth.
