Jim Jones has recalled Dr. Dre “punking” in the studio, and said the legendary producer is still sitting on unreleased Dipset music.
Capo recalled the studio session in an interview with The Amazing AllHipHop podcast, where the Harlem native described his time in the lab with Dre as a “great night” for Hip Hop.

“That was a great night in Hip Hop, a great night for the Diplomats,” Jim said. “I had a little studio on 28th street, and Dr. Dre was trying to recreate his new sound for his new album at the time, and we had that sound. Came to my studio, me and Cam did like four records in there. Juelz came and did a record at the end.”
He added: “We did about four or five records with Dr. Dre. I don’t know what he ever did with the records, and yeah he did them directly to his hard drive so we had a copy of it to listen to and shit like that.”

Jim Jones went on to say that while the records may never see the light of day, the Aftermath founder owes him a phone call first if he ever decides to release their music.
“Truthfully, he better not put it out ’cause I’m charging $2 million for my verse,” he joked, adding that working with Dre “was dope,” regardless.
The “We Fly High” hitmaker then recalled Dr. Dre — a notorious perfectionist — making him rerecord his verse over a dozen times, an experience he said made him feel like the producer was “punking” him.
“It was the first time I ever had somebody really make me do my verse over like 20 times,” he said. “The first time I got a piece of that, it had made me think about 2Pac and Snoop and all the others that had to get the beats from Dre.

“Dre was punking n-ggas like, ‘Man, go back in there and spit that shit over, bro. You bugging the fuck out.’ Every time he told me, ‘Nah nah, do that over, man.’
“Like, ‘Bro you’re cursing at me. You don’t even know you’re cursing at me. You’re punking the shit outta me right now ’cause n-ggas is looking at me like, ‘You’re telling Capo to do his shit over? This is crazy.’ N-gga, you fucking it up for me.”
This isn’t the first time Jim Jones has spoken about Dipset’s work with Dr. Dre. Back in 2014, the Harlem native said in an interview with The Breakfast Club that the studio session went down in 2010, but he hadn’t seen or heard from Dre since.
“I ain’t never seen that man again and he took the records,” Jones said. “We did like four records. Dr. Dre has four Diplomat records right now on Dre beats. In one night, he came in there, went to the studio and was like ‘I got the same studio, let’s rock.’ He put his little plug in and we did four incredible records.”
