The Academy Award-winner’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, broke the news on April 12, issuing a statement on Instagram announcing that her father had experienced a health scare the day before.
Corinne added that her dad was “already on his way to recovery” thanks to “quick action and great care.” “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” she added. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
TMZ also reported at the time that members of Jamie Foxx’s family visited him in hospital and the 55-year-old was “communicating now, and that’s good news.”
Foxx had reportedly been finishing up filming his new Netflix movie Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz in Atlanta prior to his health scare.

A stunt double of Foxx has been used to film scenes in his place, with a pair of actors reportedly named “Chris” and “Travis” temporarily filling in for the veteran entertainer.
A CNN source relayed that production on the movie was due to wrap up this week, but wouldn’t confirm if Jamie Foxx would be back on set for any remaining scenes.
Directed by Seth Gordon, Back In Action also stars Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler and is set to premiere on Netflix in early 2024.
Foxx announced he was starring in the film last summer, tweeting out an audio clip of a phone conversation with Diaz and Tom Brady, during which the NFL legend attempted to convince the There’s Something About Mary star to “unretire.”

Foxx’s hospitalization isn’t the only hiccup that has occurred on set. Last month it was reported that the multi-hyphenate was targeted by a $40,000 scam while shooting Back in Action, temporarily halting its production.
According to The Sun, Foxx fired several production staff — including an executive producer, two directors and his own driver — in connection with the alleged scheme. An insider claimed the film has been nothing short of a “nightmare” and “there have been a lot of delays” with “an investigation into everything going on.”
