Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized after suffering a “medical complication,” although the actor is already on the mend.
The Academy Award-winner’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, issued a statement late Wednesday (April 12) announcing that her father had experienced a health scare on Tuesday (April 11).

While she didn’t share any more details about his health issue, TMZ reported that Foxx’s condition was serious enough that he had to be taken to hospital.
Fortunately, Corinne added that her father is “already on his way to recovery” thanks to “quick action and great care.” “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” her statement continued. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”

TMZ later reported that members of Foxx’s family visited him in hospital and the 55-year-old “is communicating now, and that’s good news.”
Foxx has yet to issue a statement himself.
Jamie Foxx’s health scare arrived as he was filming the movie Back in Action in Atlanta with co-stars Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler. Directed by Seth Gordon, the action-comedy is set to premiere on Netflix in early 2024.
Foxx announced he was starring in the film last summer, tweeting out an audio clip of a phone conversation with Diaz and Tom Brady, during which the NFL legend attempted to convince the There’s Something About Mary star to “unretire.”
“Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT. @CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION – our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!” he wrote.
Foxx’s hospitalization isn’t the only hiccup that has occurred on set. Last month it was reported that the multi-hyphenate was targeted by a $40,000 scam while shooting Back in Action, temporarily halting its production.

According to The Sun, Foxx fired several production staff — including an executive producer, two directors and his own driver — in connection with the alleged scheme. An insider claimed the film has been nothing short of a “nightmare” and “there have been a lot of delays” with “an investigation into everything going on.”
