In April, the Academy Award-winner’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, issued a statement announcing that her father had experienced a “medical complication.” While she didn’t share any more details, TMZ reported that Foxx’s condition was serious enough that he had to be taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, Corinne added that her father was “already on his way to recovery” thanks to “quick action and great care.”

Following weeks of hospitalization and receiving encouragement from friends and fans alike, Foxx took to Instagram in early May to express his gratitude for all the support.
“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he wrote in the social media post.
By mid-May, the “Gold Digger” singer had been discharged from the hospital and had entered what’s touted as one of the top physical rehabilitation centers in the country.

Both of his daughters were pictured visiting him at the Chicago-based rehab center over Mother’s Day weekend. There is still little information about what exactly happened to Foxx, but the facility he was in reportedly specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.
