Ja hosted 40 previously incarcerated mothers and their children, listening to their stories about how they’ve been affected by the criminal justice system while sharing some of his own jail experiences.
Footage from the event showed the Queens, New York native hugging various women and posing for photos.
Ja Rule also recently spoke about a mother-to-be in the form of his longtime friend and collaborator Ashanti, who is expecting a baby with Nelly.
When asked on the Tamron Hall Show whether he was surprised by the power couple rekindling their romance following their split over a decade ago, he said: “Not really. So her and my wife, they do their ha-ha ki-ki-ing, right? And so, you can tell sometimes when women want that old thing back.”

“I don’t wanna blow sis up!” he added after the crowd exploded. “But the chemistry was there. And I think for both of them, it came back quick. I think they missed each other. The way they clicked just came back so fast.”
Ja has also shown support to Diddy as he faces a number of legal battles after being accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking by multiple people.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored in March, the 48-year-old expressed sympathy for the alleged victims, but also wished the Bad Boy boss “luck” and called the situation “unfortunate.”
“It’s another Black man in this industry going through some unfortunate circumstances,” he said. “I wish him luck with everything he’s going through — and if there’s victims in this. I can’t speak on things that I don’t know about, Piers … but I wish everybody love.”

Speaking vaguely about the allegations, Ja added: “It’s a very unfortunate thing for the victims of these situations, and for the people who are also being accused of these situations. I believe in justice and I believe in the punishment fitting the crime.
“And if people get convicted of the things these people are saying then they should be put in jail. But I also believe, on the flipside, if people are lying about these things they should also be taken to court, tried and be put in prison as well.”
