Isaiah Rashad and REASON have joined Kembe X on his latest hard-hitting single titled “The Basement,” which arrived last week.
The intoxicating “The Basement” hit streaming services on Friday (May 12) and features production from the combination of !llmind and Kal Banx.

REASON steps to the mic first and gets candid about his drinking habits and how his views on women have changed since becoming famous.
“Turn these hoes into women/But sometimes women no fun/So tell those bitches what’s up/And bitches turn me polygamous/Now my girl she ain’t into it/Say this industry changed me/Could be right,” he raps.

Rashad takes the baton for a compact verse serving as a bridge to his former Village collective partner Kembe X as the duo’s relationship goes back over a decade.
“The v hit was close up/Costa La No Stress/Four eyes, I’m juggling no job/I’m saving up protons/There’s platinum in both sides/It happens in no time,” the TDE artist spews.
Kembe X rhymes to close out the track: “Can’t tell whather my nose went numb or the funk fake/Vomit out my conscious on ya any given Sunday/If you in the huddle, you know we already won.”
“Prepare to roll up, sip on something, whatever u into. this one is a vibe fashooo,” Kembe added on Instagram getting fans ready for the tune’s arrival.
The Chicago rapper has been keeping busy in 2023 after not dropping an album since 2019’s I Was Depressed When I Made This. He’s released a trio of singles prior to “The Basement” including “Hate Me or Hate Me,” “Arizonian Freestyle” and “Rolls Royce Top.”
As for Zay, Rashad’s been laying low since the arrival of his The House Is Burning album in 2021. The soon-to-be 32-year-old rapper was honored with his own day and key to the city of his native Chattanooga while performing at the 2022 Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee.
“You are an inspiration to this crowd, to the world, to this city, and so I wanted to present you with a key to the city of Chattanooga,” Mayor Tim Kelly told the rapper on the Bonnaroo stage before handing him a proclamation officially declaring June 17 “Isaiah Rashad Day.”
