Iggy Azalea has revealed she’s been having a very difficult time recovering following a surgery she underwent to fix some back issues she had.

The Australian native jumped on Twitter on Monday (November 28) to talk to her fans about her health issues in a series of tweets, explaining the surgery meant she was unable to walk for about three weeks. According to Iggy, she was supposed to fly back to her homeland to film a movie when her troubles began.

“Right before I left I had what I thought would be a rather mundane surgery on my back to fix the issues I had after touring two summers in a row on an injury,” she wrote. “It didn’t end up being very mundane because I had complications with my recovery & ended up in bed hooked up to a million machines and in so much pain. There are about 3 days I actually just can’t remember at all.”

She added: “I didn’t walk except to use the bathroom (a whole other ordeal lol) for 3 weeks. [And] you’d be shocked to know how weak you can get when you don’t actually move. It happens really fast.”

Fortunately, Iggy’s health has improved as she updated fans on her recovery and explained doctors are more than happy with her progression. She also mentioned setting several goals for herself on her road to recovery.

“A week ago I was cleared to get up and start moving again,” she wrote. “I’ve been seeing someone daily at the house and we do lil workouts (they are so sad y’all lol). I’ve been getting back strong. I will recover 100%. My goal is to be in good health by Christmas.”

She continued: “It’s been very mentally challenging to suddenly not be able to do anything for yourself and have no answers about when you will recover. That was the hardest part but all the Drs have been so happy with how quickly I’m getting better now that I’m back moving & walking.”

Iggy Azalea revealed she missed out on the film role because of her situation but understands her health is more important. According to the rapper, she’s looking at her body differently after that whole ordeal.

“Obviously I won’t be in any movie,” she added. “Missed that opportunity (damn it!) But I’m just thankful to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. I think I’m gonna seriously get into my fitness after this. I value my body in a whole new way after this experience.”

Iggy’s health condition comes after she recently sold off her master recordings and publishing catalog to Domain Capital in a lucrative eight-figure deal.

According to Billboard, the deal finds Iggy handing over “100 percent of her existing catalog,” but there’s a clause where she can earn future revenue on her masters.
