Baton Rouge CBS affiliate WAFB reports that Torrence Hatch, better known as Lil Boosie, was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday afternoon after pleading guilty to drug and gun charges.
In addition to numerous local community outreach efforts to help his community, Boosie [click to read] had numerous run ins with local law enforcement, including an April assault charge [click to read] and an arrest in October of 2008 which led to Tuesday’s sentencing.
“I’m just ready to get all of this behind me and get further on with my career,” Hatch told WAFB reporters. “I pled guilty to my best interest.”
Boosie‘s latest effort, Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz [click to read], was released on September 15. The album’s standout single, “Better Believe It,” which features Young Jeezy and Webbie has been on the Billboard singles chart for eight weeks, peaking at the number 50 spot. The rapper says he plans to spend as much time with his children as possible before serving his sentence. His prison term could be considerably shortened if he qualifies for early release due to good behavior.
