Thursday, Manhattan prosecutors dropped some lingering gun charges against stand-up comedian, actor and one-time Diplomat affiliate, Katt Williams [click to read]. After initially being cited for carrying three guns which were registered out-of-state in November of 2008, the 35-year-old Williams faced various possession charges. Williams made a brief appearance in court Thursday but didn’t speak to reporters.

“We are very pleased the district attorney did the right thing here,”Williams‘ lawyer, Charlie Ross told the New York Daily News. “[Williams] is doing great. He’s definitely hoping to resurrect his career.”

In other news, R&B singer, songwriter The-Dream has announced he will be ending his solo career. Much like Bow Wow [click to read] and Soulja Boy before him, the Atlanta native made his retirement announcement late Thursday night via the social micro-site, Twitter.

“Being true to my word. I always answer the fans and followers. I am engaged and Love King ‘IS’ going to be my LAST album!”The-Dream wrote. In his Twitter [click here] statement, which is included in its entirety below, the self-proclaimed “Radio Killa” also added that he will continue to write for other artists and make featured appearances.
