When TVT Records went bankrupt in 2008 [click to read], Pitbull found himself in a form of record label Limbo before inking a digital deal with The Orchard. While speaking with HipHopDX last year [click to read], Pit explained that he was setting up his Mr. 305 imprint.
“From Miami I got AIM coming out—AIM is just MIA spelled backwards,”Pitbull explained. “You’ve got Cornbread, Young Boss and Sincero. Sincero‘s gonna take over the Spanish market for me. I got producers I’m lining up, a publishing company and I have a label called Mr. 305 Inc. Thank God for that.”
Despite being out of the spotlight, Pitbull has been quietly making moves. On Wednesday, Billboard announced that Pitbull‘s Mr. 305 label will be a joint venture with Polo Grounds/RCA Music Group. According to NielsenSoundScan, Pit sold 772,000 digital downloads of his single “Krazy” in 2008.
“Being an artist with an independent mindset, I was skeptical about signing with a major label,” said Pitbull in a released statement. “But being that Bryan and I have shared success and come from the TVT school of hard knocks, I know Polo Grounds and the RCA/Jive Label Group will be the perfect fit for Mr.305.”

Pitbull‘s upcoming album, Rebelution has a tentative release date of September 1. His single “Blanco” [click to watch], which also features Pharrell is currently being promoted in conjunction with Fast & Furious 4, as it appears on the film’s soundtrack.
