Georgia Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson has thrown out a 2006 felony drug charge against Lil Wayne [click to read]. At the time of the arrest, Wayne was found on his tour bus with unmarked bottles containing hydrocodone and a generic form of Xanax, along with two marijuana joints [click to read]. The charges were tossed out due to an illegal search.

“The testimony by the State’s witnesses had numerous inconsistencies in material evidence provided at this hearing, especially when compared to the written police reports that had been created…by two of the three officers who entered the hotel rooms at the Twelve Hotel,”Johnson stated in a document filed Tuesday.

In other news, Florida court records show Suge Knight‘s trial for his lawsuit against Kanye West has been moved to U.S. District Court in Miami. Knight reportedly wanted to keep the trial closer to home, since he just finished bankruptcy proceedings in Los Angeles after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge. Knight is moving forward with his charges of negligence and personal injury against West, after he was shot and lost a 15-carat diamond earring at a party West hosted in 2005 [click to read].

“The diamond stud fell out while Knight writhed on the floor after being shot,” state court papers filed in the suit. “It was retrieved by a man who identified himself as a hotel employee. That employee informed Mr. Knight at the time that he would make sure that the earring would be returned to Mr. Knight, but that never occurred. Had Mr. Knight not been shot, he would not have lost his earring at the party.”
