Despite its legal implications, the Digital Age has made it possible for tech savvy consumers to freely access virtually any artist’s music with a few mouse clicks. Through separate contests, Ludacris [click to read] and Case are hoping to reverse the trend by allowing listeners to help create their content.

Luda has teamed up with Monster to provide fans with an opportunity to direct a video from his Theater of the Mind album [click to read]. Any song from the album is fair game, and the winner receives a Monster surround sound system with an approximate retail value of $5,000.

“Over the years I have been impressed by many of the videos that fans
have created to accompany my music,”
Ludacris explains. “So the Monster ‘Theater of the
Mind’ Video Contest is a way for me to both reward my fans and
encourage participation and creativity. I’m really looking forward to
seeing the ideas that people come up with.”

Six first prize winners will each have their videos remastered and distributed as well. The contest ends February 27, 2009; for guidelines and entry information, please visit: http://www.monstermusic.com/ludacontest/
