“Each one outlines a prominent or unknown figure in black history over Sha Stimuli instrumentals,” explains DJ Victorious [click to read]. “We started on Super Bowl Sunday, which is the first day of Black History Month, with Jim Brown [click to listen].“
Having already established a brand with concept-driven mixtapes such as The March on Washington and The Secret, Victorious adds that he needed no additional motivation for the series.
“I basically seen a need,” explains Victorious. “Growing up, we are taught black history started from a slave ship and ended in the ’60s with Martin Luther King, Jr. I basically wanted to shine the light on people who history has damn near forgotten…or has yet to honor. I thought it would be good to do audio over some of Sha‘s tracks to keep it entertaining as well as informative. [Hopefully] the beats will help the info sink into their heads.“
