Much like his fellow D.I.T.C. member Big L, A.G. says the late Party Arty‘s memory will be kept alive by a vast musical catalogue. While speaking with RS Radio, “Andre the Giant” confirmed P-80‘s catalogue consists of “like four or five albums that he had just finished.”
As DX reported in December of 2008, the one-time Ghetto Dwellas and Diggin’ in the Crates member died from undisclosed health complications [click to read]. As A.G. paid tribute to Arty he also confirmed a long-circulating rumor about the heralded battle emcee. When asked if Party Arty was in negotiations with different major labels, including G-Unit, A.G. said, “Yeah. When you hear the music that’s gonna be put out, you’re gonna see that he could’ve been the one.
“When it comes to lyrics, emceeing and music–a lot of times you’ll hear me say that I’m the best,”A.G. added. “But, he was one person who, when I listened to him, I’d say, ‘Well, maybe I’m not.'”
Before ending things on a much less somber note with some freestyle bars, A.G. made his plans known to release a new album in conjunction with a documentary on his Bronx collective, D.I.T.C.
