Toosii has opened up about cheating on his girlfriend and said fame is not all it’s cracked up to be.

The North Carolina rapper dropped off his new single “Heartaches” last month and announced he’ll return with a new project called Boys Don’t Cry on October 7, but despite the good news Toosii penned a letter to his fans to elaborate on his experience being a celebrity and admitted he’s been struggling in recent days.

“Fuck this fame shit, y’all could have it. This shit lame. People love you then they hate you. I should have never even started rapping for y’all,” Toosii wrote on his Instagram Story. “I should have just kept my music to myself like I did in the beginning to cope with problems.”

He continued, “And to my son. I love you man I won’t be nothing like what my dad was to my mom and she know that. My intentions pure but the world paint this fucked up image of a n-gga like I’m posed to be perfect and it’s a relief to be able to finally let people know that I’m not.

“I hope my son always stand on his business and keep his head high cause his daddy did. Fuck the fame I’m out.”

Toosii then hopped on IG with a video to elaborate on this point even further.

“I stepped away from posting my relationship and having a relationship broadcasted on the Internet, simply because that shit was taking over everything I do,” he said in a video posted to his Story. “At the end of the day, I make music. When y’all think of me, I want y’all to think of the music, and enjoy the music. I just want to be an artist.”

Additionally, Toosii’s digital team announced in an Instagram post to his page that the “Lonely” rapper would be offline for the foreseeable future, and that he dropped a new song on YouTube.

“Toosii will no longer be on social media for a while. He wants his fans to know he loves them and that he hopes you all are still friends, the caption read. “He says he’s fine he just wants to clear his head and that everyone should take breaks sometimes. He also dropped a surprise song.”

Toosii’s new EP Boys Don’t Cry will be the first new work from the HipHopDX Rising Star since 2021’s Thank You For Believing, which featured appearances from Latto, DaBaby and Key Glock.

While Toosii’s been laying low this year, he told his fans earlier in September that he had stepped into the studio with Future, and that it was truly a sight to behold.
