Cardi B has promised to remove her song “Cheap Ass Weave” from streaming services after being called out by UK rapper Lady Leshurr.

Originally released in 2015 prior to her mainstream breakthrough, “Cheap Ass Weave” is a remix of Leshurr’s “Queen’s Speech 4” freestyle and has racked up over 4.5 million views on YouTube alone.

As Leshurr’s original track celebrated its seventh anniversary on Tuesday (August 2), the Birmingham-born rapper tweeted about wanting Cardi B to compensate her for flipping one of her flagship freestyles.

“You mind asking Cardi if she can break me off a likkle change she used my beat/idea before her big break and is now a millionaire and I got paid 0,” she wrote in response to a fan mentioning Cardi’s version.

The Bronx bombshell didn’t appear to be in the giving mood, though, as she replied to Leshurr’s tweet with, “I made like 2 dollars of that song ….you want the other dollar ?”

Lady Leshurr — a MOBO Award winner who has collaborated with the likes of will.i.am and Wiley and supported Nicki Minaj on tour — responded to Cardi’s tweet by further arguing her case. She also revealed she sent the Invasion of Privacy star an unanswered DM about the song years ago.

“would b nice but tbh I just wanted my credit & it’s mad I had to tweet banter 4 a response when I dm u years ago about it,” she wrote back.

“I was cool wen I thought it was just YT cover but it’s on streaming sites as ‘cheap azz weave’ nw & urs comes up b4 mine so yes dollar & credit pls.”

Cardi B relented and vowed to remove “Cheap Ass Weave” from all streaming services, while snarkily promising to cut Lady Leshurr a check.

“I don’t find the song on apple but if it’s on any streaming service I will be makin sure it’s takin down including YouTube,” she promised. “I will also make sure I send you your dollar.”

As of press time, “Cheap Ass Weave” remains available on YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud.

“Cheap Ass Weave” isn’t the only old Cardi B release that has caused a stir lately. In June, her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy was ranked as the 16th greatest Hip Hop album of all time by Rolling Stone, ahead of iconic records like Nas’ Illmatic, Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and Outkast’s Aquemini.

After the list sparked outrage among rap fans, Cardi defended her album’s “classic” status while accusing Rolling Stone of setting her up.

“It definitely is a classic. The numbers are great, are amazing, and it’s not even about the numbers; I’ve been all around the world and people sing it fucking word for word,” she told Angela Yee’s Lip Service.

“But I definitely understand when you put my album before Biggie’s album, before Nas’ album… it was a set up. Rolling Stone, you tried to set me up! You got my ass dragged on a Tuesday for no reason.”
