Lizzo’s unabashed confidence surrounding her body has made her a target on social media. But the Grammy Award-winning artist is typically able to brush it off and often isn’t shy to confront the negative comments head-on. On Saturday (June 4), the 34-year-old evidently had enough and addressed men who use her stage name as an insult to other women.
“Dudes be ugly w no bitches talking bout “oK LiZzO” as an insult in girls comments,” she wrote. “I’m beautiful rich & get immaculate dick… ISSA COMPLIMENT. If u can’t make it past the cheeks, just say that.”
Lizzo reference to “immaculate dick” is presumably a nod to her newly identified beau Myke Wright. She was first spotted with the actor at Los Angeles restaurant Craig’s on Valentine’s Day. She confirmed she was still romantically involved with the man while speaking to Andy Cohen for his SiriusXM series Radio Andy in April. When Lizzo was asked about the dinner date and if they were still together, she let out a deep belly laugh and replied, “Yeah, whatever. Yeah.” He was later identified as Wright.
While Lizzo was able to handle the latest round of criticism, that hasn’t always been the case. In August 2021, the “Truth Hurts” singer had a vulnerable moment when she broke down on Instagram, clearly fed up with the fat-shaming.

“Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back,” she said in part. “It’s like it doesn’t matter how much positive energy you put into the world, you’re still going to have people who have something mean to say about you. And for the most part it doesn’t hurt my feelings; I don’t care. I just think when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower. My patience is lower. I’m more sensitive and it gets to me.”
While Lizzo didn’t specify exactly what the messages said, she did note, “I’m not even going to say them, to give them power.” She added, “People saying shit about me that just doesn’t even make sense. It’s fat-phobic, and it’s racist and it’s hurtful. If you don’t like my music, cool. If you don’t like ‘Rumors’ the song, cool. But a lot of people don’t like me because of the way I look.”
But Lizzo is too busy succeeding to be down for long. She’s expected to hit the road this fall with Latto in support of her forthcoming album Special. The tour kicks off in Florida on September 23 and will make stops in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, Houston, Dallas and many more before wrapping up in Los Angeles at The Forum on November 18.
