Pusha T isn’t the only rapper prohibited from entering Canada. Rising Detroit rapper Babyface Ray ran into similar trouble at the Canadian border this week when he was denied entry into the country.
The 31-year-old was scheduled to perform at The Axis Club in Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday evening (May 31) as part of his North American Sincerely Face Tour, which kicked off on the West Coast earlier in May.
However, for reasons that have yet to be made clear, Ray was turned away at the border, resulting in his show being canceled. “Sorry,” the rapper wrote in an Instagram Story while tagging Toronto as his location. “I was denied access.”
The nixed tour date didn’t appear to dampen Babyface Ray’s mood too much, though, as he still reveled in making JAY-Z’s“Montecito” Memorial Day playlist that debuted on Monday (May 30).

The 22-song, TIDAL-exclusive collection included multiple tracks from Ray’s latest album FACE — including “A1 Since Day 1,” “Family > Money” and the Icewear Vezzo-assisted “6 Mile Show” — alongside recent offerings from Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Kanye West, Future, Kodak Black and others.
The Michigan native posted a photo of Hov’s playlist on Instagram while retweeting several tweets celebrating his inclusion. “SHES HERE,” he added in a tweet of his own in response to an enthusiastic post from his “Big Estate” collaborator Baroline.
Released on January 28, FACE has only accelerated the momentum that Babyface Ray has been building in recent years. The 20-track project boasted appearances from Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa, 42 Dugg, G Herbo and Yung Lean while further showcasing Ray’s nonchalant yet menacing street rhymes. A deluxe edition featuring eight additional tracks arrived in May.
While it remains to be seen whether Babyface Ray’s border troubles will persist, Pusha T’s Canada ban was made public during his appearance on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs last month. Push’s manager, Steven Victor, explained his 2018 Toronto concert that ended in a brawl is to blame, but that didn’t stop fans from running wild with Drake conspiracy theories.
