Snoop Dogg is undeniably one of the most successful rappers and entertainers in pop culture. But according to the Cali lyricist himself, he wouldn’t have gotten to where he is if a man named Mr. Collins didn’t believe in him when he was a student at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

The “Gin And Juice” legend took to Instagram on Friday (May 20) to shout out his old high school mentor, who he calls “Cool Breeze,” after the pair reunited backstage at an event.

“Mr. Collins aka cool breeze,” Snoop wrote. “Poly high 89. This man helped mentor me thru high school. Thanks Mel.”

Snoop Dogg’s recent nostalgic reunion brought to mind Cardi B, who in 2018 visited her old P.S. 128 Elementary School in the Washington Heights neighborhood and reunited with her first-grade teacher Yvette Coporan, who was still teaching there.
