Future‘s latest album I NEVER LIKED YOU is proving to be an historic one for the Atlanta rapper.

On Sunday (May 8), Pluto’s ninth solo LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after earning 222,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, the biggest sales week of 2022 so far and the largest opening tally in his career.

Just 24 hours later, the Freebandz boss doubled up on his chart domination as “WAIT FOR U” featuring Drake and Tems claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, the publication announced on Monday (May 9).

Future is just the second rapper — and fifth artist overall — in history to simultaneously debut atop the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. Coincidentally, Drake was the first MC to achieve the feat last September with Certified Lover Boy and his Future and Young Thug-assisted “Way 2 Sexy.”

“WAIT FOR U,” which received a medieval-themed visual makeover last week, dethroned Harry Styles’ “As It Was” after notching 40.2 million streams, 7.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 6,400 downloads between April 29 and May 5.

The ATL Jacob and FNZ-produced trap ballad hands Future his second No. 1 single following the aforementioned “Way 2 Sexy” and his first as a lead artist. Drake, meanwhile, earns his milestone 10th chart-topper, becoming the 10th act in Hot 100 history with at least 10 No. 1s.

I NEVER LIKED YOU made an even bigger dent on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, with all 16 of the album’s original songs impacting the chart. “PUFFIN ON ZOOTIEZ” (No. 4), “712PM” (No. 8) and “I’M DAT N-GGA” (No. 10) also cracked the top 10, while Future and Drake’s other collaboration, “I’M ON ONE,” entered at No. 11, followed by the Kanye West-assisted “KEEP IT BURNIN” at No. 15.
