Los Angeles, CA

DaBaby’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh has had its fair share of rocky moments. All of it came to a head-on Wednesday (February 9) as DaBaby got into an altercation with Brandon Bills, DaniLeigh’s brother, at a bowling alley in Topanga, California.

When stopped by paparazzi outside of a private party for Kanye West’s upcoming Netflix documentary jeen-yuhs on Friday (February 11), the Blame It On Baby rapper made it clear the only reason why he swung first in the fight against Bills was due to his protection.

“Self-defense,” he calmly said before handing out autographs to the crowd surrounding him. “Shouldn’t run around threatening people.”

In footage shared to social media on Thursday (February 10), DaBaby can be seen throwing the first punch at Bills, who has on more than one occasion called out the father of his sister’s child due to alleged mistreatment. After Bills collapses to the ground at the bowling alley, DaBaby’s entourage surrounds him and begins throwing punches at him.

The incident left Bills with noticeable cuts and bruises on his face. Although DaBaby took an impromptu victory lap following the fight, he also drew the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department, who’s looking into DaBaby for possible assault charges.

According to security footage, the incident led to Corbin Ball promptly banning DaBaby and his entourage and the LAPD pondering whether DaBaby should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon because Bills was kicked in the head while he was on the ground.

DaBaby’s fight with Bills is the latest in his lengthy saga with DaniLeigh. After the two were on-again and off-again in their relationship, the singer soon became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl in late 2020. Last November, officers were called to DaBaby’s Los Angeles area home after he alleged DaniLeigh assaulted him. The “Lil Bebe” singer now faces two assault charges relating to the domestic call.
