Snoop Dogg paid the cost to be the boss on Wednesday (February 9) when it was announced he had purchased the Death Row Records brand, assuming ownership of the legendary West Coast label 30 years after he originally joined the roster.
Snoop’s blockbuster deal drew plenty of praise from the rap community, with fans and peers alike saluting Uncle Snoop for bossing up while bringing the storied gangsta rap label full circle.
Longtime Snoop Dogg fan and fellow stoner Curren$y took to Twitter to congratulate Tha Doggfather on his latest achievement, hailing it as a prime example of Kanye West‘s “Black Future Month” movement.
“Snoop acquiring Deathrow is black future month As Fuck,” he wrote.

Kanye caught wind of Spitta’s tweet and shared it on his Instagram page, which for the last month has been used as a platform to promote his upcoming Donda 2 album, make public demands about Netflix’s jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy and air out family matters with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

Kanye’s Instagram post caught the otherwise carefree Curren$y off guard as the New Orleans native jumped into the comments section to share his effusive reaction to seeing himself plastered on Chicago rap icon’s IG page.
“What in the actual fuck!!??!!” he wrote. “Hahahaha well… I mean yeah man… thanks for givin us an adjective to describe such legendary accomplishments man. Props to both of you legends.”
Despite sharing mutual friends such as 2 Chainz, Jay Electronica and Yasiin Bey, Kanye West and Curren$y have yet to collaborate. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this rare crossover moment will change that.

“Kanye posted my tweet on his insta now the homies think I’m finna be on Donda and shit,” Spitta joked on Twitter. “Please chill. #continuance drops 2/18.”
Snoop Dogg reciprocated the love by reposting Kanye West‘s Curren$y screenshot on his own Instagram page along with fist bump and folded hands emojis.
All three rappers are gearing up to release new albums this month: Snoop Dogg’s Bacc On Death Row drops on February 13, followed by Curren$y’s Continuance collaboration with The Alchemist on February 18, while Kanye is set to unleash Donda 2 on February 22.
