YG’s sixth studio album is officially on the way. The Compton native revealed earlier this week that his next LP is titled Pray For Me and will arrive later this year on Def Jam Records.
The announcement comes on the heels of YG kicking off the album rollout with the star-studded single “Scared Money,” which features assists from J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo. The trio pulled off a risky bank heist in the track’s accompanying visual last Friday (February 4).
“When I do the features I be doing, it’s always who would be unexpected or who I ain’t work with yet or who is really gonna do the record justice lyrically with bars,” he told Power 106 of hand-picking his former tourmate J. Cole and Big Bag for features. He even copped both Cole and Moneybagg Yo 4 Hunnid chains to thank them for joining him on the record.

YG is ready to celebrate back outside after remaining indoors for most of the COVID-19 pandemic. He detailed how his upcoming album will signify his truth.
“The music is just gonna be my truth, as far as my life right now,” he explained. “It’s just the growth of me, my headspace, what I’m on in life. And I think the whole COVID pandemic shit, I hated it, but I also look at it as like this shit kinda helped me get to where I’m at mentally.”
Meanwhile, YG is also facing serious public allegations tying his involvement to orchestrating Drakeo The Ruler’s murder at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival in December 2021.

Both Drakeo’s mother and associate K7 have pointed the finger at the Compton native for setting up the fatal stabbing. However, as the $60 million wrongful death lawsuit filed against Live Nation on behalf of Drakeo’s five-year-old son states, “there is no evidence to indicate that YG had anything to do with the events that would lead to Mr. Caldwell’s murder.”
