NLE Choppa has made a lot of bold statements over his three-year career, such as allegedly curing someone’s cancer and eating dog food in a video, but he may have made his most daring statement yet.

During a recent interview with Power 106, NLE Choppa was asked if he was compared to anyone in the rap game and his answer falls right in line with something he would say. According to the Memphis native, people are comparing him to a pair of greats.

“Uh, I don’t know, I feel like I get a lotta Michael Jackson ’cause the type of energy I bring,” NLE Choppa said. “Somebody said I look like him, I don’t know. And I get Tupac, too, ’cause what I stand for, what type of principles I stand for outside of music. With me, it’s not about the music all the time, it’s about who I can impact. Who life I can [change].”

NLE isn’t wrong when he says he stands by what he believes in, just like Pac stood firm on his beliefs before his untimely passing in 1996. In January, the “Walk Em Down” rapper actually dressed like 2Pac for a special photo shoot with legendary designer Karl Kani.

The photoshoot recreated several iconic Tupac Shakur looks from the 90s. One of the key pieces NLE wore was an actual hoodie 2Pac had on for his shoot many years ago.

With the new year coming up, NLE Choppa is gearing up to release his highly anticipated project Me vs. Me. During a recent interview, NLE spoke about the project and its concept.

Me vs. Me is, pretty much, a project concept I’ve been wanting to get out for a long time,” he said. “I chose a few old songs and I chose a lot more newer songs so that people can see the growth that I’ve shown musically. At the same time, I’m still speaking on the same topics of what my core fans like to hear from me.”
