Kanye West and reality television star Kim Kardashian were married for seven years and had four children together. But the SKIMS founder filed for divorce in February and they’ve been working out the details of their split ever since.
On Saturday (October 9), Kardashian was tasked with hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time and used her opening monologue to throw a jab at her future ex-husband. It started innocently enough, with Kardashian praising his musical talent and exorbitant bank account, but then it went left.
“I married the best rapper of all time,” she says. “Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you had to know it came down to just one thing — his personality. I know that sounds mean, but people keep telling me comedy comes from truth and if there’s one thing I always strive to be it’s genuine.”
Kim Kardashian continued to poke fun at the Kardashian-Jenner clan throughout the episode. Par for the course, her appearance on the long-running sketch comedy show also disgusted some SNL fans.

In fact, Kim K was a trending Twitter topic for most of the evening and well into Sunday (October 10) with many slamming NBC’s decision to give her the gig.
“Has SNL ever hard a less-qualified, less-talented host than Kim Kardashian,” journalist David Lazarus asked,” while retired news executive Michael Coates added, “I won’t be watching SNL tonight. Kim Kardashian doesn’t deserve a second of my time.”
Meanwhile, another person pondered how Keeping Up With The Kardashians was able to run for 20 seasons with Kim Kardashian at the helm.
“I just watched SNL hosted by Kim Kardashian and all I have to say is how TF did that show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” or whatever it is last SO long? (I’ve never seen it) She’s absolutely HORRIBLE at acting. She should be banned from SNL for sucking so bad lol jesus.”

But there were just as many who thought Kim Kardashian nailed her hosting duties and praised the writers for doing such a good job crafting her lines.
She was joined by mother Kris Jenner and sister Khloe Kardashian as well as musical guest Halsey who played Kendell Jenner for one of the skits. Other celebrities cameos included Blake Griffin, John Cena, Chris Rock, Tyler C, Chase Crawford, Amy Schumer and Jesse Williams.
Kanye West was apparently in New York City to support the mother of his children despite being photographed at John F. Kennedy International Airport flying economy on Friday (October 8).
